At Way of Knife & EDC Gear House, we are committed to complying with all federal, state, and local laws regarding the sale and shipment of knives and other edged tools (“cold weapons”). It is the responsibility of the customer to understand and comply with all applicable laws in their jurisdiction prior to placing an order.
General Shipping Policy
We ship orders within the United States where legally permitted. However, due to varying laws and regulations, certain products may be restricted or prohibited in specific states, counties, or municipalities.
By purchasing from us, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age (or the legal age required in your jurisdiction)
- You are legally allowed to purchase and possess the item(s)
- The items are legal to ship to your location
Restricted Items
The following product categories may be subject to shipping restrictions depending on location:
- Automatic (switchblade) knives
- OTF (out-the-front) knives
- Gravity knives
- Ballistic knives
- Disguised or novelty knives
- Double-edged (dagger-style) blades
State & Local Restrictions
Knife laws vary widely across the United States. When ordering, please be aware that the following restrictions are placed on knives ordered for certain jurisdictions. These include and are not limited to;
- California – Restrictions on automatic knives (blade length limits apply)
- New York – Restrictions on certain knife types and interpretations of “gravity knives”
- New Jersey – Strict limitations on possession and intent
- Massachusetts – Restrictions on automatic knives
- Illinois – Automatic knives restricted without FOID card in some cases
- Washington, D.C. – Strict regulations on carry and possession
Additionally, some cities and counties enforce stricter laws than their respective states.
Order Review & Cancellation
All orders are subject to review. If we determine that an item in your order cannot legally be shipped to your location:
- The restricted item(s) will be removed from your order, or
- The order may be canceled and refunded in full
We reserve the right to refuse shipment of any item at our discretion.
Shipping Carriers & Handling
Certain items may require:
- Specific shipping carriers or methods
- Additional processing time to ensure compliance
