One of the defining features of this elite expression of the Manix 2 XL is its blade, which is crafted from CPM® M4. A popular material for high-performance custom blades and knives used in competitive cutting, CPM M4 is a special purpose high speed tool steel produced by the particle metallurgy process. Its sophisticated alloy composition, high vanadium content, and extremely fine grain structure give it exceptional wear resistance and toughness—properties that translate to outstanding edge retention and impact resistance in knife blades. The blade of this knife is also cloaked in a handsome black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

Equally unique, this knife's handle features Blade HQ's signature natural-colored G-10 scales. These peel-ply-textured scales are mounted to full skeletonized stainless steel liners that give the handle impressive structural strength and house its patented Ball Bearing Lock™ mechanism. A reversible hourglass pocket clip provides left or right-side tip-up carry and, along with the knife's other symmetrical features, makes all aspects of its carry and operation completely ambidextrous. To complement the blade's DLC coating, the knife's handle hardware and clip also sport non-reflective black coatings.
